Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited information handled by Willmar Residents Directory and the choices available to visitors. The service is a private reference to public-record sources in Willmar, Minnesota. It does not require an account and does not host public records about its readers.

Information You Submit

A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider serving that result. Willmar Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. If you send a message, the information in that message is used only to respond.

Automatically Logged Information

Like most hosted services, the site records routine technical information such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregate review helps maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support essential analytics or advertising measurement where used.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to operate the service, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve its reference pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual visitor profiles are not created.

External Services

Links may lead to Kandiyohi County and Minnesota portals, library collections, archives, and outside search tools. The destination’s own policy controls information submitted there. Sponsored search results are also provided by an outside company.

Limited Disclosure

Hosting and support providers process the technical logs needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. Data are otherwise disclosed only when valid legal process requires it.

Security and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection and retains logs only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or member profiles maintained by Willmar Residents Directory.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information, and it will be removed.

Your Information Choices

Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information a service holds. Minnesota does not have a broad consumer-privacy statute cited in the research, while public government data are handled under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13. Because little information is retained, requests usually involve checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs, then removing material found. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Minnesota, Kandiyohi County, or Willmar custodians must be addressed to those custodians.

Policy Changes

A revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after posting means that the updated version applies.
